Wistful Words for My Sinner

I wore the gardenia body lotion to the gym today. As I worked out, the heat of my body released the scent of gardenia. The smell filled my senses and I could not stop my thoughts from turning to you.  I need to hear your voice so that I know and you know we are not alone in this Void.

as part of my stay here at the sou'wester i've been creating some new jewelry designs, each is still one-of-a-kind, of course! i'm photographing them while staying here, and putting them up for sale in my etsy shop here

hdts program 2013!

i'm so excited to announce that at the outset of my residency at sou'wester lodge, matt suplee and i were accepted to be part of the hdts (high desert test sites) 2013 program! here's our blog about the project!

so part of the residency at sou'wester will be making fragrance combinations, one of which might be part of the souvenircollab piece we create as well!

i'm excited to share that i'll be doing a residency at sou'wester lodge in seaview, wa in early april creating a signature room scent for them as part of my stay there. i was thinking this would be a good chance to explore some site-specific scents

 

in preparation, i'm reading at home by bill bryson, looking at the history of architecture, and our relationship to space.  he even included stories about ambergris, which is one of my favorite perfume ingredients, and anecdotes about the history of spice importation through travel

...it would be to spend that entire day with you at Disneyland again. But, just me and you this time. Just to spend the entire day, playing, having fun and spending it with each other at a magical place. <3 section="">

I like vintage and worn decor, because they remind me of all the decor at dl. I love the smell of chlorine, because they remind me of the water rides there. I like the smell of burning popcorn, peanuts, candies, again because they remind me of there. The smell of stinky horses.. the smell of mechanical machines..they all remind me of dl... Among many other things. You truly love that place like no one else I know. Makes me love you even more.

just finished a great shoot yesterday, a collaboration with photographer walter lockwood who has recently relocated to portland. 

we worked together on a photographic depiction of perfume, translated as light going through our model, the beautiful annie montgomery!  hair and makeup by kristina raeleen! thanks so much everyone!
